LEAH'S BIO

Leah Harrison is Casting Associate to Des Hamilton Casting. Since Leah Harrison is Casting Associate at Des Hamilton Casting. Having been part of the DHC team since earlier this year, Leah has previously assisted on multiple high profile projects for companies including; Netflix (The Sandman), Sky (Arthur's Whisky), Paramount (Jack Ryan) and Apple TV (Shantaram).

Leah's recent credits as Casting Director include multiple award winning short films; 'Lunatics', 'Itching' and 'Ratthum' which premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival.

LUCY'S BIO

Lucy is one half of Jenkins McShane Casting. She is a member of the CDG and BAFTA. Jenkins McShane Casting have cast over a hundred plays. West End credits include Magic Goes Wrong, Groan Ups, The Red Lion, The Kite Runner, Warhorse and – the Olivier Award-winning The Play That Goes Wrong and A Comedy About a Bank Robbery. For screen, they have worked on several films including the Oscar-winning short The Confession, and recent features include Deus, Dark Encounter, For Love or Money, Widow’s Walk, Bliss! and The Comedian’s Guide to Survival.

SESSION 1 - Self-tape Feedback - 13th March, 7:00pm - 9:30pm

Having looked at your online CV, Dane will send out a selection of scenes for you to choose one from regardless of age, gender or ethnicity. You will then be asked to submit a self-tape of this scene before the workshop.

There will then be a live Zoom session where each self-tape will be shown to the whole class. Paushali will give specific feedback & direction to each participant.

SESSION 2 - Taking Direction - 14th March, 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Prior to the second session, with Dane's feedback and direction - you will tape your scene again. There will be time at the end of the final session for a Q&A.

DANE'S BIO

*Dane graduated from the NFTS Casting Course in 2022 and immediately went into working in casting offices, prior to this he worked for several years in the retail sector, but realised his love lies within watching copious amounts of TV and a love of actors.

Dane currently works for Robert Sterne and previously worked for Daniel Edward’s CDG across film and television projects, where recent credits include Heartstopper for Netflix and Grace for ITV. Previously Dane has worked for Theo Park Casting and The Casting Office earlier this year.

Outside of work Dane can be found with his friends or at the Theatre or walking his miniature Dachshund T-Rex.*

JAMES'S BIO

*Pearson Casting are an award-winning, international Casting House based in London, Liverpool & New York, founded & run, by husband & wife team - James & Rosie Pearson. They work across theatre, film, TV, commercials & live performance.

With a combined industry experience of over 45 years, James and Rosie began their careers as performers.

James graduated with Distinction from the very first year of The London School of Musical Theatre and was the first graduate to gain employment as an actor, as well as the first graduate to perform in London's West End. He then spent 19 years working as an actor on stage, TV and film. He is also an experienced theatre director and worked as an agent for Keddie Scott Associates, London.

Rosie graduated from the University of Birmingham with a combined BA Hons in English and Theatre Studies before embarking on a successful career as an actor, director and producer.

James & Rosie are both members of the CDG - Casting Directors Guild, CDA - Casting Directors Association and the CSA - Casting Society of America. In 2022 they won Best Casting In Regional Theatre at the CDG Awards for their work on RENT.

They are joined in the New York office by Ian Subsara, who is a proud graduate of Elon University in North Carolina where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre. He has since worked extensively as a Casting Director across TV, live performance and theatre, both on and off-Broadway. The New York office is currently casting the US National Tour of 9 to 5, directed by Jeff Calhoun.

In 2020 Pearson Casting launched the award-winning Collective Creative Initiative, a free 30 hour a week industry platform for the arts, in response to the Covid-19 crisis. In 2021 they redesigned this platform as a free resource for teaching institutions across the world, and became the proud recipients of a prestigious Industry Minds Award for 'Best Training Establishment'.

SOPHIE'S BIO

Having started in video and audio production, talent management and extras casting, Sophie began casting for theatre and commercials in 2015, then moved into film and TV casting in 2017. She has worked most closely with Rose Wicksteed, co-casting projects like 'Jack Ryan' (Paramount), 'Invasion' (Apple+) and 'Black Cake' (Hulu). Other significant projects include 'The Nun' and 'The Nun II' (New Line), 'Homeland' (Fox 21 for Showtime) 'Escape Room' (Sony Pictures) and 'The Great' (Hulu).

As well as working closely with Rose, Sophie has cast several short films, including Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying 'Edicius' (dir. Uzo Oleh) and '5 Stars' (dir. Remi Itani), shortlisted at several prestigious festivals including the British Short Film Awards and the BFI London Film Festival. She also voice-cast 'Lusus', a fiction horror podcast series for BBC Sounds which featured voice work from Morfydd Clark, Patsy Ferran and Ncuti Gatwa. Her latest work includes horror series 'The Faceless Lady', a first-of-its-kind viewing experience filmed for VR viewers on Meta's Horizon World's headsets, produced by Eli Roth and co-cast with Lucy Jordan.

Sophie lives in east London with her daughter, her dog and her husband (in priority order).

Gemma has been working in casting for over 20 years and is currently a casting director for the in-house casting department at the BBC, working on Casualty, Father Brown, Sister Boniface and Shakespeare & Hathaway. Gemma and her partner Sam Stevenson were nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for their work on the BBC adaptation of Emma.

AMY'S BIO

Amy Jackson is a freelance Casting Director working across TV and Film. Most recently she worked as Casting Associate at Amy Hubbard Casting, where she co-cast SUSPICION (Apple TV), THE GIRL BEFORE (Ch4 / HBO Max), THE OUTLAWS S2 (BBC/Amazon) DECEIT (Ch4) and BEST INTERESTS (coming soon to BBC).

Amy started her casting career in commercials with Sasha Robertson before moving on to freelance with hugely respected Casting Directors, such as Kate Rhodes James, Rachel Freck, Julie Harkin, Jina Jay, Kate Dowd, Gemma Sykes, Rachel Sheridan, amongst others. Steph Tataryn has been working as a freelance casting assistant since 2017 and is currently working for Lucinda Syson’s office. She has worked across many film & TV projects including “The Diplomat” (Netflix), “Foundation” (Apple) and the upcoming remake of John Woo’s “The Killer”, “Dodger” (BBC/NBC), Catherine Tate’s “Hard Cell” (Netflix), TV series “Bulletproof” (Sky One), “Flowers in the Attic: The Origins (A&E)” amongst various others. Shakyra is a fierce champion of emerging and diverse talent and past projects have included nominations at the BAFTAs, BIFAs, Sundance & TIFF.

Recently released projects include Nathalie Biancheri’s Wolf with George MacKay, Lily Rose-Depp and Paddy Considine which has world wide distribution with Universal.

Recent casting includes Swedish biopic Hammerskjold directed by Per Fly (Bogen) and produced by Patrick Ryborn for Unlimited Stories, with Mikael Persbrandt in the lead role and BFI backed The Occupant, directed by Hugo Keijzer, with Ella Balinska in the lead role starts shooting February 26th.

Shakyra is currently working on Lotus Hannon's On The Line and Sasha Nathwani's Last Swim with attachments Solly McLeod and Narges Rashidi.

Gabbi is from London and has been working in the film and television industry since 2014. She joined Harkin & Toth in February 2022 after four years at Sister, with a passion for championing inclusivity on and off-screen, a love for actors and brilliant storytelling.

After graduating with a BA in Media and Communication Studies, she started her career in the marketing department at an independent film distributor working across cast-driven and commercial digital, theatrical and physical releases. Following this, she lived in Wellington, New Zealand and worked at the Department of Internal Affairs for 7 months. She returned to London in 2018 and joined production studio Sister Pictures (now Sister) assisting Executive Producers across HETV series such as ‘This Is Going To Hurt’, ‘The Baby’, ‘The Power’, ‘Pack Of Lies’ and ‘Kaos’ amongst others.

Seth has most recently been co-casting director on Unforgotten 5 (Mainstreet for ITV) The Split 3 (BBC / Sister) and Rebel Cheer Squad (Netflix / iPlayer), and the shorts Nant and Her Majesty – both of which had official selection at the London Film Festival 2022. He was casting director on The Catch (Projector Pictures for Channel 5) and co-cast the feature film Embers (Mini Productions), due for release later in 2023.

As casting associate, he recently worked on Sherwood (House Productions), AIDS: The Unheard Tapes (Wall To Wall), The Chemistry of Death (Paramount Plus), The Bubble (Netflix), Crossfire (Dancing Ledge Productions), Django (Sky) Des (New Pictures), Starstruck (HBO Max / BBC Three), Worzel Gummidge (Leopard Pictures), World On Fire (Mammoth), Silent Witness (BBC), Baz Luhrmann’s The Secret Life of Flowers for ERDEM x H&M and the hit feature film Crawl (Paramount).

Upcoming projects as casting associate include Platform 7 (Dancing Ledge Productions for ITV1/ITVX), The Long Shadow (New Pictures) and Alfonso Cuaran’s new series for Apple.

Lucy is a Casting Director with a decade in the industry and has predominantly worked alongside Dixie Chassay. Lucy has frequently collaborated with director Yorgos Lanthimos, including on the Academy Award-winning THE FAVOURITE and subsequently on Lanthimos' upcoming features POOR THINGS and AND. Additionally, Lucy has been Casting Associate on all three seasons of Hulu’s Emmy Award-winning series THE GREAT.

CHANDRA'S BIO

Chandra Ruegg started working in the industry as a child actress.

After more than twenty years, she moved into the world of casting and works across screen as a Casting Associate and theatre as a Casting Director.

She is currently at Sophie Holland Casting.

Recent credits there include The Peripheral (Amazon), Wednesday (Netflix), Constellations (Apple TV) and The Witcher 3 (Netflix)

For theatre she was a Casting Consultant on An Octoroon (Abbey Theatre Dublin) and Casting Director on Lava (Bush Theatre), Running With Lions (Lyric Hammersmith) and Grenfell: In The Words of Survivors (National Theatre).

She also had a stint as an associate for Olivia Scott Webb, working on Ballerina (Lionsgate).

ROWLAND'S BIO

Rowland has been working in casting for over 17 years, and has worked on numerous productions such as Being April, The Bill, Grease Monkeys and The Afternoon Plays. Rowland works as a casting director at the BBC's in-house casting department and is currently casting Casualty.

His work for the BBC includes Father Brown, The Coroner, My Jihad, Playing Ball, Doctors, Eastenders, Eastenders E20, Another World and Shakespeare & Hathaway. He also cast the 2021 BAFTA award winning episode of Casualty.

As well as casting, Rowland joined the BBC Studios Executive Committee in July 2020 as part of the BBC Senior Leadership Advisor Programme, in which he brings a diversity of thinking into decision making at the very top of the BBC, helping to broaden mindsets and offer new perspectives that aid BBC Studios’ creative, financial and strategic objectives.

He is also a member of the Emerging Creators Group and The Scriptworks Talent Board, both groups are accountable for on and off screen talent who have a demonstrable ability to add to our existing portfolio of productions as well as creating new and bold, British IP which fits with BBC Studios priority genres. Diversity & Inclusivity is front and centre.

He runs casting workshops for actors across many under-represented groups, with a view to casting them in BBC Studios continuing dramas..

SAFFEYA'S BIO

Saffeya started out as a film publicist before making the move into casting in 2021, after graduating from the National Film & Television School’s Casting Certificate. She joined The Old Vic as their in-house Casting Assistant, before progressing to Casting Coordinator earlier this year, and supports freelance casting directors across productions, as well as often leading or assisting on casting for workshops, readings and monologue series’.

Recent productions she has worked on for The Old Vic include Jack Thorne’s A Christmas Carol (directed by Matthew Warchus), Mike Bartlett’s The 47th (directed by Rupert Goold), Caryl Churchill’s A Number (directed by Lyndsey Turner), August Wilson’s Jitney (directed by Tinuke Craig), Jonathan Spector’s Eureka Day (directed by Katy Rudd), and Kate Prince’s Sylvia.

He plugged away as an actor for 10 years, before deciding to sidestep into the world of casting, and is now lucky enough to have seen things from both perspectives and thoroughly enjoys offering as many nuggets of new found wisdom as he can!

This 4 week course covers the nuts and bolts of screen-acting auditions. Each week Gaby will send you a different genre scene to prepare testing your versitility as an actor. Sides will be sent out for you to prepare 4/5 days prior to the session. + BIO

With a career spanning more than 15 years, Gaby started in film at the age of 17. She attended the New York Film academy at Kings University in London, where she received her master’s in producing for the screen. Gaby subsequently went on to produce and direct several short films, which performed successfully at various film festivals globally, gathering 4 nominations and 1 win. She produced and cast her first feature film Dead End in 2011, which was nominated at the Washington DC film festival, and won best UK Feature Film at the International TV and Screen awards in London. This led to Gaby’s move to Los Angeles, where in 2019 she produced and cast the Feature film Becoming, starring Toby Kebbell, Jason Patric and Penelope Mitchell. Becoming was listed in the top 20 horror films to watch in 2020 by Thrillist and is currently available to watch on Amazon. Gaby also runs Filmtrax Casting and works with talent such as Harvey Keitel, Harry Melling, Maggie Q, Lenny Kravitz,Toby Kebbel, and Nicholas Cage to name a few.

Gaby’s latest film that she has just cast is DIRTY ANGELS, directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Goldeneye) which was shooting in Greece. Gaby has cast stars such as Ruby Rose, Eva Green, Maria Bakalova, and several actors from Netlfix’s hit show Fauda. Such as Rona Lee Shim’on and George Iskandar. Gaby is currently working with director Phillip Noyce (The bone collector, Rabbit proof fence) on Wall of White – a feature about the 1982 avalance diaster in California. As well as having just cast James & Lucia starring Rupert Friend, Evanna Lynch and Anna Friel.

Luci Lenox is an award winning casting director based in Spain. She has cast over 100 productions and her client list includes Netflix, Fox, Amazon, BBC, Sky, Hulu, Lionsgate, Paramount, ABC, Disney, NBC and MediaPro as well as numerous Spanish independent producers. Films she has cast have won over 250 awards at International Film Festivals.

Rae Hendrie is a Casting Director who has been working in casting in TV and Film for the last 10 years. In 2022, after 7 years at Julie Harkin Casting, Rae has started her own company, Rae Casting. NANCY'S BIO

Nancy Bishop, CSA ,is an award -winning casting director, who works internationally from offices in London and Prague. She is a founding member and former President of the Casting Society of America’s (CSA) European branch. With over 100 major feature film and television projects among her credits, Nancy has cast hundreds of actors throughout Europe, the United Kingdom and the U.S. Nancy has been retained as casting director by dozens of major screen producers and directors, including Sacha Baron Cohen on Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm, for which she won an CSA Artios Award for best casting of a comedy. Other credits include working with Brad Bird, (Mission Impossible IV), Bong Joon Ho(Snowpiercer), and Matthew Weiner (The Romanoffs). She also was nominated for an Emmy Award for her casting work on Anne Frank: The Whole Story, ABC/Disney Studios.

Nancy is a native of New England and trained as an actor and director at the University of Michigan and the National Theatre Institute. She earned a Master’s of Arts degree in theatre history at Northwestern University.

Nancy began her career as an actor, director and acting teacher in Chicago. In the 1990′s, she helped to found two cutting-edge theatre companies that are still going strong today: Strawdog Theatre and Theater Oobleck. In the early 90’s, Black Box Theater lured Nancy to Prague after the fall o the Iron Curtain, where she produced and directed a number of plays, and launched touring productions throughout Europe. This time period is ironically portrayed in Rex-Patriates, a mock- documentary film that Nancy produced and directed.

In addition to casting, Nancy also enjoys coaching, and founded the Acting For Film program at the Prague Film School. She wrote three books for actors about the craft of auditioning. The most recent book, Auditioning for Film and TV; a post-#metoo Guide (Bloomsbury) is available on Amazon from February, 2022.

Nancy is a member of the British Academy (BAFTA), the Emmy Academy, the European Film Academy, as well as the International Casting Director Network (ICDN) and the Casting Directors Guild (CDG.)

Eliza Heslop started as an assistant to Alastair Coomer & Isabella Odoffin, moving to work under some fantastic Casting Directors such as; Jina Jay, Kahleen Crawford, Kate Rhodes James and Nina Gold working on several projects in each office.

Eliza has been a casting assistant for the past 5 years, collecting a vast knowledge across TV and film specifically. She’s worked on projects such as Black Mirror, Spiderman; Far From Home, The Little Drummer Girl, The Capture, and many more.

Currently Eliza works as a casting associate to Kahleen Crawford in her London office.

Oliver is currently a casting assistant at Harkin & Toth Casting (Julie Harkin and Nathon Toth). His 2024 credits include multiple Episodes on the highly anticipated TV series DUNE: The Sisterhood and DOPE GIRLS starring Sebastian Croft.

CHANDRA'S BIO

Chandra Ruegg started working in the industry as a child actress.

After more than twenty years, she moved into the world of casting and works across screen as a Casting Associate and theatre as a Casting Director.

She is currently at Sophie Holland Casting.

Recent credits there include The Peripheral (Amazon), Wednesday (Netflix), Constellations (Apple TV) and The Witcher 3 (Netflix)

For theatre she was a Casting Consultant on An Octoroon (Abbey Theatre Dublin) and Casting Director on Lava (Bush Theatre), Running With Lions (Lyric Hammersmith) and Grenfell: In The Words of Survivors (National Theatre).

She also had a stint as an associate for Olivia Scott Webb, working on Ballerina (Lionsgate).

Elisa is a French freelance casting director/assistant working with the offices of Nancy Bishop, Rachel Freck, and Sally McCleery Casting.

ROWLAND'S BIO

Rowland has been working in casting for over 17 years, and has worked on numerous productions such as Being April, The Bill, Grease Monkeys and The Afternoon Plays. Rowland works as a casting director at the BBC's in-house casting department and is currently casting Casualty.

His work for the BBC includes Father Brown, The Coroner, My Jihad, Playing Ball, Doctors, Eastenders, Eastenders E20, Another World and Shakespeare & Hathaway. He also cast the 2021 BAFTA award winning episode of Casualty.

As well as casting, Rowland joined the BBC Studios Executive Committee in July 2020 as part of the BBC Senior Leadership Advisor Programme, in which he brings a diversity of thinking into decision making at the very top of the BBC, helping to broaden mindsets and offer new perspectives that aid BBC Studios’ creative, financial and strategic objectives.

He is also a member of the Emerging Creators Group and The Scriptworks Talent Board, both groups are accountable for on and off screen talent who have a demonstrable ability to add to our existing portfolio of productions as well as creating new and bold, British IP which fits with BBC Studios priority genres. Diversity & Inclusivity is front and centre.

ANA'S BIO

Ana Duarte works as a freelance Casting Assistant and has had the pleasure of working for Andy Brierley, Theo Park, and Victor Jenkins. Her experience spans across various TV projects, including "Silent Witness" (BBC), "Chemistry Of Death" (Paramount+), the newest season of "Starstruck" (BBC Three), and the upcoming Alfonso Cuarón Apple TV show "Disclaimer", among others. Ana has also had the opportunity to work for Sophie Holland as her Personal Assistant while completing her NFTS Casting Course, and she has gained valuable casting experience in Shaheen Baig's office as well. In addition to her professional achievements, Ana is a passionate advocate for disability and neurodiversity in the industry.

OLISSA'S BIO

Olissa Rogers is a Casting Director working on a freelance basis working on her own projects. She began working in the industry back in Germany in 2008. She worked there until 2016 mainly on TV Series. In 2016 she met casting director, Jeremy Zimmermann, and went to be casting assistant for him on several films until 2018. She then moved on to become casting assistant to Kharmel Cochrane for commercials and TV/Film projects. In March 2019 Olissa was approached by Theo Park and was working on big TV projects (e.g Ted Lasso) as her associate where she was until October 2019. From November 2019 until February 2020 Olissa was one of the casting associates to Amy Hubbard. Olissa has also worked for Fiona Weir as one of her associates from June 2020 - April 2022.

KRISTINA'S BIO

Kristina Erdely is a London based casting director/producer with over 25 years experience in the industry. Initially beginning as a theatre producer, Kristina migrated into casting features and High-End Television for the international market and has founded her production company Marilla Pictures in 2018. Kristina has a natural eye for spotting talent, with an instinctive ability to understand what the director is looking for. Knowing what it’s like to be on the other side of the camera, Kristina works with actors to get the best performance from them during the casting session. Kristina is a voting member of BAFTA and BIFA and PACT and is a founding member of the European/London Chapter of the CSA (Casting Society of America) As an advocate for equality both in front and behind the camera, Kristina is passionate about actively increasing diverse storytelling opportunities, inclusive productions, and has a rolling knowledge of the industry’s emerging talent.
Kristina’s recent television work includes David Fincher’s BAFTA winning Love, Death and Robots series for Netflix, for which she was nominated for the Artios Awards in 2020. Other TV includes: The Royals for NBC / Lionsgate, and Blood Drive, a longform series for Syfy in the US, The Drowning for Channel 5 and All3 Meida. Toni_with_An_I received a BAFTA nomination in the short form television category in 2020. Kristina’s recent film work includes the award-winning Eaten by Lions, directed by Jason Wingard, winner of ‘Best Comedy’ at the National Film Awards 2020 and currently broadcast on Sky Cinema. Talent includes BAFTA winner Asim Chaudhry, Johnny Vegas and Antonio Aakeel who received the prestigious ‘Screen Star of Tomorrow’ after the film’s success. Her work on In Another Life, also directed by Jason Wingard, won the 2017 British Independent Film Awards ‘Discovery Award’ and was named ‘Best Film’ at Raindance. Jupiter’s Moon, directed by Kornel Mundruczo (Pieces of a Woman) was included in main competition for the Cannes Palme d’Or 2017.

Simon works with Olivia Scott-Webb and Dan Hubbard.

Credits include, The Pope's Exorcist, directed by Julius Avery & starring Russell Crowe; announced but yet to be released feature films, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, directed by Guy Ritchie; Verona, a new original musical based on Romeo & Juliet directed by Timothy Scott Bogart; Canary Black, directed by Pierre Morel, the director of 'Taken' & starring Kate Beckinsale; Midas Man, a biopic of Brian Epstein, the man who discovered The Beatles, directed by Joe Stephenson; Arcadian, directed by Benjamin Brewer & starring Nicolas Cage & Magpie, directed by Sam Yates & starring Daisy Ridley - all due for release in 2024.

He plugged away as an actor for 10 years, before deciding to sidestep into the world of casting, and is now lucky enough to have seen things from both perspectives and thoroughly enjoys offering as many nuggets of new found wisdom as he can!

Laura MacFadden is Theo Park's associate and together they reently worked on the Emmy award-winning series TED LASSO!

Theo Park comes from a background in production & agenting. Once an associate of Nina Gold, Theo has cast wide and varied projects such as SIGHTSEERS, HIGH RISE both dir. Ben Wheatley, PADDINGTON dir. Paul King and FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD dir. Thomas Vinterberg. Recent film credits include MGM’s THE HUSTLE & the Netflix original CALIBRE. CHLOE'S BIO

Chloe studied Acting at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. After graduating Chloe worked as a project co-ordinator in theatre production before moving to London and becoming an agents assistant at ARG. Chloe then worked in commercials before moving into casting. They have worked for the Casting department at The National Theatre for two and a half years, assisting on productions including Under Milk Wood, Hex and The Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night Time. Chloe just cast Barrier(s) in the Dorfman Theatre and also does freelance casting work.

JEMIMA'S BIO

Growing up with a father in Locations and an aunt in Casting I always knew I wanted to end up working somewhere in films. I started my career at Curtis Brown, the Talent Agency. Meeting Actors, Directors and Casting Directors, attending the theatre frequently and reading countless scripts gave me a brilliant introduction to the industry. I decided to make the move to Casting in 2015 and I’m really enjoying it. Working with a variety of Directors and discovering new talent are just a couple of the joys of the job for me.

Having looked at your online CV, Sophie will send out a selection of scenes for you to choose one from regardless of age, gender or ethnicity. You will then be asked to submit a self-tape of this scene before the workshop.

There will then be a live Zoom session where each self-tape will be shown to the whole class. Sophie will give specific feedback & direction to each participant.

**SESSION 2 - Taking Direction 17/04/2024:

Prior to the second session, with Sophie’s feedback and direction - you will tape your scene again. There will be time at the end of the final session for a Q&A.

Sophie has been working in the casting industry for 7 years. She started out working as a casting associate at Hubbard Casting with Ros and John Hubbard, where she worked on films such as 'Journey's End', 'Hurricane' and 'The More You Ignore Me'. She then went on to work with Des Hamilton Casting, and now is working independently in casting along side production.

Her casting experience mainly lies within TV, with credits including TED LASSO and THE RINGS OF POWER. Courtney feels very passionately about actors being able to work freely within both the theatre and TV/Film industries, and having the skillset to do so!

Chandra Ruegg started working in the industry as a child actress.

After more than twenty years, she moved into the world of casting and works across screen as a Casting Associate and theatre as a Casting Director.

She is currently at Sophie Holland Casting.

Recent credits there include The Peripheral (Amazon), Wednesday (Netflix), Constellations (Apple TV) and The Witcher 3 (Netflix)

For theatre she was a Casting Consultant on An Octoroon (Abbey Theatre Dublin) and Casting Director on Lava (Bush Theatre), Running With Lions (Lyric Hammersmith) and Grenfell: In The Words of Survivors (National Theatre).

She also had a stint as an associate for Olivia Scott Webb, working on Ballerina (Lionsgate).

Katie worked in TV production before moving into casting in 2017. Now a Casting Associate at Rachel Sheridan Casting, working on a range of projects for television. Prior to this, Katie worked as a Casting Associate at Crowley Poole Casting, with Casting Directors Suzanne Crowley and Gilly Poole for 5 years. Most notable projects include all 14 Episodes of 'One Day' (Netflix), the Emmy and Bafta award winning 'Killing Eve' seasons 1-4 (BBC America) with Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer; The Durrells (ITV), Ragdoll (AMC+, Alibi), We Hunt Together (UKTV) Finding Alice (ITV) and Around the World in Eighty Days (BBC1). Katie has assisted in casting for several theatre projects for Hampstead Theatre. In 2021, Katie worked as a Casting Director for Tara Theatre and The Lodger at the Coronet Theatre.

JEMIMA'S BIO

Growing up with a father in Locations and an aunt in Casting I always knew I wanted to end up working somewhere in films. I started my career at Curtis Brown, the Talent Agency. Meeting Actors, Directors and Casting Directors, attending the theatre frequently and reading countless scripts gave me a brilliant introduction to the industry. I decided to make the move to Casting in 2015 and I’m really enjoying it. Working with a variety of Directors and discovering new talent are just a couple of the joys of the job for me.

CHLOE'S BIO

Chloe studied Acting at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. After graduating Chloe worked as a project co-ordinator in theatre production before moving to London and becoming an agents assistant at ARG. Chloe then worked in commercials before moving into casting. They have worked for the Casting department at The National Theatre for two and a half years, assisting on productions including Under Milk Wood, Hex and The Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night Time. Chloe just cast Barrier(s) in the Dorfman Theatre and also does freelance casting work.

JAMES'S BIO

*Pearson Casting are an award-winning, international Casting House based in London, Liverpool & New York, founded & run, by husband & wife team - James & Rosie Pearson. They work across theatre, film, TV, commercials & live performance.

With a combined industry experience of over 45 years, James and Rosie began their careers as performers.

James graduated with Distinction from the very first year of The London School of Musical Theatre and was the first graduate to gain employment as an actor, as well as the first graduate to perform in London's West End. He then spent 19 years working as an actor on stage, TV and film. He is also an experienced theatre director and worked as an agent for Keddie Scott Associates, London.

Rosie graduated from the University of Birmingham with a combined BA Hons in English and Theatre Studies before embarking on a successful career as an actor, director and producer.

James & Rosie are both members of the CDG - Casting Directors Guild, CDA - Casting Directors Association and the CSA - Casting Society of America. In 2022 they won Best Casting In Regional Theatre at the CDG Awards for their work on RENT.

They are joined in the New York office by Ian Subsara, who is a proud graduate of Elon University in North Carolina where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre. He has since worked extensively as a Casting Director across TV, live performance and theatre, both on and off-Broadway. The New York office is currently casting the US National Tour of 9 to 5, directed by Jeff Calhoun.

In 2020 Pearson Casting launched the award-winning Collective Creative Initiative, a free 30 hour a week industry platform for the arts, in response to the Covid-19 crisis. In 2021 they redesigned this platform as a free resource for teaching institutions across the world, and became the proud recipients of a prestigious Industry Minds Award for 'Best Training Establishment'.

Sacha works for Nina Gold Casting across film and television projects, where recent credits include BAFTA winnng 1917 directed by Sam Mendes, the upcoming Marvel film Morbius starring Jared Leto, Last Night in Soho directed by Edgar Wright, Misbehaviour starring Keira Knightley and directed by Philippa Lowthorpe and The Power for Amazon. Previously Sacha worked with Rebecca Wright, where projects included Call The Midwife, Britannia and Delicious.

YVONNE'S BIO

Originally from Birmingham, Yvonne moved to London to train as an actor at Rose Bruford College in 2014. She graduated in 2017 with a 1st class honours degree in BA Acting. Yvonne’s work as an actor, writer and in production has given her a taste for noticing talent and this led her into casting. Yvonne began her casting journey at Julie Harkin Casting in 2019. Yvonne is passionate about promoting undiscovered talent. In this 4 week Intensive, you will work on a different play each week. You will be cast individual scenes based on your Spotlight or Acting Cv and paired up weekly. Lucy is one half of Jenkins McShane Casting. She is a member of the CDG and BAFTA. Jenkins McShane Casting have cast over a hundred plays. West End credits include Magic Goes Wrong, Groan Ups, The Red Lion, The Kite Runner, Warhorse and – the Olivier Award-winning The Play That Goes Wrong and A Comedy About a Bank Robbery. For screen, they have worked on several films including the Oscar-winning short The Confession, and recent features include Deus, Dark Encounter, For Love or Money, Widow’s Walk, Bliss! and The Comedian’s Guide to Survival.

Caitlin is Casting Associate for Suzanne M. Smith (CSA, CDG) alongside Laura Windows (CDG), she works on multiple projects across Television & Film. Her most recent credits include 'To Olivia' (Sky), ‘Carnival Row (Amazon), ‘Good Omens’ (BBC/Amazon), Season 4 of the Emmy-award winning ‘Outlander’ (STARZ), Season 2 of ‘Knightfall’ (A&E/History), ‘In From The Cold’ (Netflix) & ‘Warrior Nun’ (Netflix) as well as the much-anticipated TV adaptation of Leigh Bardugo’s best-selling books ’Shadow & Bone’(Netflix). Caitlin is currently working on several exciting projects and has a passion for championing and working with actors, having come from an acting background herself.

Clare has worked in casting for over 10 years. She most recently cast THE WORLD WILL TREMBLE starring Oliver Jackson Cohen, Anton Lesser and David Kross which is currently in post production. Previous Casting Director and Associate credits include SETTLERS, starring Brooklynn Prince, Sofia Boutella and Johnny Lee Miller OFFICIAL SECRETS starring Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes and Matt Smith. And the action series TREADSTONE (Amazon Studios) and JACK RYAN (Amazon Studios).

Clare was an Associate to Kate Dowd for several years further Associate credits include Eye in the Sky (feature film), Me Before You (feature film),The Hurricane Heist (feature film), Still Star Crossed (TV) We Die Young (feature film), The Book Thief (feature film), Stonehearst Asylum (feature film), Galavant (TV Series), The Assets (TV mini-series), as well as Pilot Season for ABC (2012-16) and Warner Brothers (2012-2019.)

Clare has also cast a variety of short films including BEAST (Billie Piper and Sinead Cusack) and VERT (Nick Frost, Nikki Amuka Bird & Olivia Vinall)

ELIZA'S BIO

Eliza Heslop started as an assistant to Alastair Coomer & Isabella Odoffin, moving to work under some fantastic Casting Directors such as; Jina Jay, Kahleen Crawford, Kate Rhodes James and Nina Gold working on several projects in each office.

Eliza has been a casting assistant for the past 5 years, collecting a vast knowledge across TV and film specifically. She’s worked on projects such as Black Mirror, Spiderman; Far From Home, The Little Drummer Girl, The Capture, and many more.

Currently Eliza works as a casting associate to Kahleen Crawford in her London office.
