+ WORKSHOP FORMAT
Workshop your musical theatre skills with leading MT director Matthew White. The day will begin with a meet and great / group warm up. Then you will workshop 2x songs each with Matthew and a highly skilled pianist. The day will also entail 'MT scene work'. Matthew will send out scenes and material prior to the workshop for you to prepare. Honest feedback and notes will be given. Everyone will participate and observe. There will be a chance for a Q&A at the end.
MATTHEW'S BIO
Matthew’s directing credits include: Pacific Overtures (Nissay Theatre, Tokyo/Menier Chocolate Factory), Top Hat (Aldwych Theatre), which won three Olivier awards, including Best New Musical, and the Evening Standard Best Night Out award, Sweet Charity (Theatre Royal, Haymarket), Little Shop of Horrors (Duke of Yorkʼs Theatre), The Addams Family (London Palladium and two UK tours), The Boy Friend, She Loves Me, Candide and The Last Five Years (Menier Chocolate Factory), The Producers (UK tour), West Side Story and Kiss Me, Kate (Kilworth House), The Magic Flute (Peacock Theatre), Maria Friedman - By Special Arrangement (Donmar Warehouse), Far From The Madding Crowd (Watermill Theatre), and Mr Stink (Leicester Curve/UK tour). Other international work includes; Top Hat (Tokyo), Little Shop of Horrors (Toronto), Cabaret and Rent (Frankfurt), The Addams Family (Singapore), and The Woman In Black and Perfect Wedding (Vienna).
As a writer he has just finished his first play, The Variations, and his most recent published work includes Staging Musicals (Bloomsbury), Top Hat (R+H Theatricals), an adaptation of Far From The Madding Crowd (Samuel French), and a series of musicals for children, Revolting Rhymes (Harper Collins).
